How do I get a duplicate title in Vermont?

If the vehicle was last titled in Vermont

1. Download and fill out the Vermont Duplicate Title Application
2. Submit the application
   • In person at the Department of Motor Vehicles
     • Time frame: Same day
     • Cost to obtain: $42
   • By mailing the application to:

     • Time frame: 7-10 business days
     • Cost to obtain: $42

If the vehicle was last titled outside of Vermont

The registered titled owner(s) of the vehicle must apply for a duplicate title through the state in which the vehicle was last titled.
