How do I get a duplicate title in Texas?

If the vehicle was last titled in Texas

1. Download and fill out the Texas Duplicate Title Application
2. Submit the application
   • In person at the Vehicle Titles and Registration Regional Offices
     • Time frame to get the title: Same day
     • Cost to obtain: $5.45
   • By mailing the application to:Texas Department of Motor Vehicles
     1601 Southwest Parkway, Suite A
     Wichita Falls, TX 76302
     • Time frame to get the title: at least 15 days
     • Cost to obtain: $2

If the vehicle was last titled outside of Texas

The registered titled owner(s) of the vehicle must apply for a duplicate title through the state in which the vehicle was last titled.
