How do I get a duplicate title in Tennessee?

If the vehicle was last titled in Tennessee

1. Download and fill out the Tennessee Duplicate Title Application
2. Submit the application
   • In person at the County Clerk’s Office
     • Time frame: Same day
     • Cost to obtain: $11
   • By mailing the application to the County Clerk’s Office
     • Time frame: 3-4 weeks
     • Cost to obtain: $11

If the vehicle was last titled outside of Tennessee

The registered titled owner(s) of the vehicle must apply for a duplicate title through the state in which the vehicle was last titled.
