How do I get a duplicate title in Montana?

If the vehicle was last titled in Montana

1. Download and fill out the Montana Duplicate Title Application
2. Submit the application
   • In person at the Motor Vehicle Division
     • Time frame: Same day
     • Cost to obtain: $10.30
   • By mailing the application to:
     • Title and Registration Bureau
       Motor Vehicle Division

       • Time frame: 3 weeks
       • Cost to obtain: $10:30

If the vehicle was last titled outside of Montana

The registered titled owner(s) of the vehicle must apply for a duplicate title through the state in which the vehicle was last titled.
