How do I get a duplicate title in Minnesota?

If the vehicle was last titled in Minnesota

1. Download and fill out the Minnesota Duplicate Title Application
2. Submit the application
   • In person at the Deputy Registrar Office
     • Time frame: 7-10 business days
     • Cost to obtain: $20.50
   • By mailing the application to:
     • Minnesota Department of Public Safety
       Driver and Vehicle Services
       445 Minnesota Street
       St. Paul, MN 55101-5187
       • Time frame: 4-6 weeks
       • Cost to obtain: $20.50

If the vehicle was last titled outside of Minnesota

The registered titled owner(s) of the vehicle must apply for a duplicate title through the state in which the vehicle was last titled.
