If the vehicle was last titled in District of Columbia

1. Download and fill out the District of Columbia Duplicate Title Application
2. Submit the application
   • In person at the Department of Motor Vehicles
     • Time frame: 10 business days
     • Cost to obtain: $26
   • By mailing the application to:

       Washington, DC, 20090
       • Time frame: 10 business days
       • Cost to obtain: $26

If the vehicle was last titled outside of District of Columbia

The registered titled owner(s) of the vehicle must apply for a duplicate title through the state in which the vehicle was last titled.
