How do I get a duplicate title in South Carolina?

If the vehicle was last titled in South Carolina

1. Download and fill out the South Carolina Duplicate Title Application
2. Submit the application
   • In person at the Division of Motor Vehicles
     • Time frame: Same day
     • Cost to obtain: $35
   • By mailing the application to:
   • SCDMV
     P.O. Box 1498
     Blythewood, SC 29016 – 0024
     • Time frame: 3-5 days
     • Cost to obtain: $15

If the vehicle was last titled outside of South Carolina

The registered titled owner(s) of the vehicle must apply for a duplicate title through the state in which the vehicle was last titled.
