How do I get a duplicate title in Ohio?

If the vehicle was last titled in Ohio

1. Download and fill out the Ohio Duplicate Title Application
2. Submit the application
   • In person at the Division of Motor Vehicles
     • Time frame: Same day
     • Cost to obtain: $15
   • By mailing the application to the County Clerk’s Title Office
     • Time frame: 2 weeks
     • Cost to obtain: $15

If the vehicle was last titled outside of Ohio

The registered titled owner(s) of the vehicle must apply for a duplicate title through the state in which the vehicle was last titled.
