How do I get a duplicate title in New Mexico?

If the vehicle was last titled in New Mexico

1. Download and fill out the New Mexico Duplicate Title Application
2. Submit the application
   • In person at the Motor Vehicle Division
     • Time frame: Same day
     • Cost to obtain: $16.50
   • By mailing the application to:
   • Motor Vehicle Division
     Services Bureau
     PO Box 1028
     Santa Fe, NM 87504-1028
     • Time frame: 2-3 weeks
     • Cost to obtain: $16.50

If the vehicle was last titled outside of New Mexico

The registered titled owner(s) of the vehicle must apply for a duplicate title through the state in which the vehicle was last titled.
