How do I get a duplicate title in Maine?

If the vehicle was last titled in Maine

1. Download and fill out the Maine Duplicate Title Application
2. Submit the application
   • In person at the Bureau of Motor Vehicles
     • Time frame: 6-8 weeks
     • Cost to obtain: $33
   • By mailing the application to:
     • Vehicle Services Title Section
       Bureau of Motor Vehicles

       • Time frame: 10 days
       • Cost to obtain: $33​Rush title service is available for an additional $10

If the vehicle was last titled outside of Maine

The registered titled owner(s) of the vehicle must apply for a duplicate title through the state in which the vehicle was last titled.
