How do I get a duplicate title in Kentucky?

If the vehicle was last titled in Kentucky

1. Download and fill out the Kentucky Duplicate Title Application
2. Submit the application
   • In person at the Division of Motor Vehicles
     • Time frame: 3-5 business days
     • Cost to obtain: $6
   • By mailing the application to the Division of Motor Vehicles
     • Time frame: 3-5 business days
     • Cost to obtain: $6

If the vehicle was last titled outside of Kentucky

The registered titled owner(s) of the vehicle must apply for a duplicate title through the state in which the vehicle was last titled.
